Donald Hedrick, of Don Hedrick Packaging, Passes Away

Donald Hedrick, founder of Don Hedrick Packaging, LLC, died December 21, 2019 at the age of 95. His career in retail packaging began in 1961 as a sales representative for Lindley Packaging Corporation selling gift and flower boxes. As the demand for more diverse packaging grew, he began selling as a distributer for most major manufacturing leaders in retail packaging products. One of Don’s mottos was “Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.” He lived by that rule and also believed service and gratitude toward customers was vital to successful business. He played an active role in his business up to his passing. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Read his full obituary.

CSS Industries Announces Acquisition by IG Design Group

CSS Industries announced that it has entered into a merger agreement under which IG Design Group plc ("Design Group"), through a subsidiary, will acquire CSS for $9.40 per share in an all cash transaction valued at approximately $88 million. CSS’ Board of Directors, based on the recommendation of a special committee of independent directors formed by the Board to evaluate the transaction and potential alternatives, has unanimously approved the transaction, as has the Board of Directors of Design Group. Upon completion of the transaction, CSS will become part of Design Group’s Design Group Americas business. Read more.
