Remembering Bob Gage: A Legacy of Dedication and Excellence

Dear Retail Packaging Association Members,

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Robert Durelle “Bob” Gage, a long-time supporter of the RPA and a recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. Bob passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2025.

Bob, alongside his beloved wife Barbara, was a cornerstone of Gage & Gage, Inc., a company celebrating its 70th anniversary. His dedication to the retail packaging industry was unwavering, and his contributions have left an indelible mark on our association.

Bob's commitment extended beyond his business success. He was a true mentor, always believing in the success of others. His work ethic was exemplary, and he never shied away from any task, whether it was leading his company or working alongside his warehouse staff.

His passion for the industry was evident in his involvement with the Manufacturers’ Representative of America (MRA), where he served as president and was a proud graduate of the inaugural Certified Professional Manufacturers’ Representative (CPMR) class.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bob was a man of diverse interests and talents. He was a skilled craftsman, a gourmet, and a devoted family man. He found joy in theater, gardening, and spending time with his beloved Samoyeds.

We remember Bob for his hardworking nature, his unwavering dedication, and his genuine spirit. His contributions to the RPA and the industry as a whole will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, from Noon to 3:00 PM at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, MN. Food and drink will be provided, and a dove release will take place at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bob’s honor to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, MN, where he received exceptional care in his final months.

Our thoughts are with Bob’s wife, Barbara, his daughters Deborah and Alisa, his grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
